Bantwana is a not-for-profit initiative in eSwatini set up by the effervescent Lungille.

Initially the business started making purses and bags from old bits of denim and sweet wrappers but they now have an extensive range of reclaimed textile items, bags, hats and accessories.

Beautifully made and incorporating waxprint and shwe-shwe elements these products are innovative and shockingly bright.

Bantwana was one of the first cohort of recipients of UNDP Seed Investment for Innovative Start-ups in 2020. In 2024 Lungille won the eSwatini national Ministry of Tourism Environmental Entrepreneur award.
